About
About hutang.me
hutang.me is a free, independent set of calculators and guides that help Malaysians understand their debt before a bank does — DSR, loan costs, and what the rules actually say.
Who runs this site
hutang.me is built and maintained by Zack, a software engineer based in Malaysia. It is an independent project — not owned by, affiliated with, or paid by any bank, lender, or financial product provider.
There are no sponsored rankings and no affiliate commissions influencing what the tools show. If advertising is ever added to support hosting costs, it will be clearly distinguishable from content and will never change a calculation result.
Why it exists
Most Malaysians first hear about DSR when a loan officer rejects their application. The number that decides approval is knowable in advance — the thresholds are published by Bank Negara Malaysia, the stamp duty scales are in the Stamp Act, and the formulas are public. This site puts those numbers within reach in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your income and commitments are never sent to a server, stored, or shared.
How the tools and guides are built
Each calculator is built from the primary source — gazetted acts, BNM guidelines, LHDN schedules, Malaysian Bar circulars, and official Budget announcements. Guides cite their sources at the bottom of every page, and each page shows when it was published and last updated.
Rates and schemes change every Budget cycle, so pages are reviewed and refreshed when the rules change.
Corrections
If you spot an outdated rate, a wrong formula, or anything misleading, please say so — corrections are prioritised over everything else and published with an updated date on the affected page.
